Classical Ballet

Starting June 18th, join Ms. Andrea Joy, a classically trained dancer and former Miami Heat Dancer and Miami Dolphin Cheerleader, each Saturday from 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM at the Gibson-Bethel Community Center. This class is suited for girls ages 7 to 15 and focuses on introducing students to ballet vocabulary and technique in a structured yet fun environment. 

There is no fee for this class. To register please come into the Gibson-Bethel Community Center Leotard, tights and ballet shoes not provided.

The City's Parks and Recreation Department offers a competitive tackle football program for youth ages 5 through 13. These future stars will have an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of tackle football, sportsmanship and teamwork. Games usually take place on Friday evening and Saturday. Seasonal Flag Football occurs each spring.

Resident: $75.00/participant
Non-Resident: $90.00/participant

Recreation youth cheerleading runs in conjunction with youth tackle football in the fall. Cheerleading performances are done during football games throughout the season.

The City of South Miami is seeking dedicated, energetic volunteers who can lead by example in demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship through through the instruction of basic fundamentals of football and cheerleading.

Youth Soccer

Through South Miami United F.C., the City provides recreational and travel youth soccer. This program focuses on individual skill development, skill development, teamwork, leadership, and respect in a fun learning environment.
