Alfredo Riverol, CPA, Cr.FA, CGFM, CGMA, was appointed by the City Manager to serve as the City's Chief Financial Officer on May 10, 2010. Mr. Riverol is a highly conscientious public servant with a collaborative but fiscally responsible attitude in the use of public funds.
He holds two Master Degrees; Master of Public Administration & a Master of Science in Taxation both from Florida International University (FIU) and is a lifetime member of the FIU Alumni Association.
Mr. Riverol was selected as the AICPA 2013 Outstanding CPA in Government Impact Award Winner for Local Level of Government for 2013. The National Outstanding CPA in Government Impact Award recognizes the impact of significant contributions of the CPA to the efficiency, effectiveness or innovative service delivery of their respective local, state, or federal employer organization. In 2013 Mr. Riverol was featured in the South Florida Business Journal as one of the best and brightest young professionals under the age of 40 for his professional success and community involvement.
Additionally Mr. Riverol is a Certified Public Accountant and licensed in the State of Florida. Mr. Riverol’s other credentials include Certified Government Financial Manager, Certified Global Management Accountant, and Certified Forensic Accountant. Alfredo Riverol began his career in local government at the City of North Miami Beach, Florida and within five short years while taking higher positions within the organization, rose to ultimately become Assistant City Manager. Mr. Riverol continued his professional career by accepting the Assistant Village Manager position for the Village of Pinecrest, Florida and continuing to serve local government.
