Master Plan

Thank you to our residents for their input and time invested into the Parks and Recreation Master Plan process. Residents participated in multiple outreach events that included surveys, community workshops, meetings and presentations. Through this collaborative effort between City officials, staff, advisory board members, residents and the Miller Legg team, we were able to create the City's first Parks and Recreation Master Plan which will guide the City's parks and recreation system over the next 8 to 10 years.

The City of South Miami Parks and Recreation Master Plan is a long-range planning document that is meant to help shape the direction, development and delivery of the City's parks and recreation system. This plan includes a community profile, physical inventory and site assessment of the existing parks, facilities and recreation programs, recommendations for current and future improvements, land acquisition and capital project development.

The purpose of this plan is to advance the mission and vision of the Parks and Recreation Department to further the establishment of a high quality parks system and maximize the effectiveness of the department and its resources.
