Planning & Zoning

The responsibilities of the Planning and Zoning Department are to

• Supervise and conduct studies of land use, facilities, resources, and needs, which influence development in the City of South Miami.
  
  
• Prepare maps and reports constituting a master plan for the physical development of the City.
  
  
• Review permit applications and occupational licenses for compliance with the Land Development Code.
  
  
• Prepare documents control and reports pertaining to zoning, subdivision control and related regulations and codes for review by Planning Board, Environment Review and Preservation Board, and City Commission.
