Elections

The City Clerk organizes and oversees all elections within the City of South Miami.

Any citizen who is a qualified elector and a resident of the City of South Miami, Florida, for at least one (1) year preceding the date of filing may be a candidate for the office of City Commission.

Although the City Clerk organizes and oversees all elections taking place within the City of South Miami, the Miami-Dade County Elections Department is in charge of printing ballots, providing voting equipment and monitors, and tallying voting results. These and other County Elections responsibilities are detailed here.

Voter Registration is handled at the County. Information on how to register is available at this site, and registration forms (PDF format) can be downloaded here in English and Spanish.
