Special Election - Tuesday, August 28, 2018


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Special Election for the City of South Miami will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, in conjunction with Miami-Dade County’s Primary Election. 


The following question will appear on the ballot:


Establishment of 4/5 majority Commission voting requirements for all land use/development regulations in certain areas.


 BALLOT QUESTION 


Shall Charter Article II, section 6.D.1. (requiring unanimous voting for some land use and development regulations) be amended to enable the City Commission by 4/5 majority vote to change land use and development regulations in certain commercial, industrial, and mixed-use areas near the South Miami Metrorail Station, the “Commercial Core” as further described in Resolution 058-18-15091.
