Hurricane Debris Rules

Residents should be placing disaster debris on the street edge (ROW) for removal.  This debris could include anything caused by or affected by the storm, for example, fencing, roofing or siding and flood damaged items.  Please place disaster debris in a separate pile making sure to place it away from things like fire hydrants, utility boxes and other infrastructure.

Residents should not be placing regular bulky trash out for collection with disaster debris, regular bulky trash includes: furniture, mattresses, boxes, etc. and other items not affected by the storm.  The City Public Works staff will pick up regular bulky trash on our typical schedule as conditions and workload permits.

Residents should also avoid placing any debris in plastic trash bags – debris does not need to be bagged for removal.

Of course, no garbage or household hazardous/chemical waste should be placed with hurricane debris; this is not the time to clean out the garage.

Thank you- City Manager
