Declaration of State of Emergency-COVID-19

Responding to the threat posed by COVID-19 /novel Coronavirus
may require extraordinary and immediate actions by City of South Miami in order
to protect the public health, safe and welfare.

Out of an abundance of caution and care for our entire community and stakeholders, all organized and contracted recreation activities, including sports programs, afterschool programs and camps are suspended until further notice. Upcoming special events and facility rentals are canceled until the declaration of emergency is terminated by the City Manager.

All senior service programs located at South Miami Senior Center (6701 SW 62 Ave.) are suspended effective Monday, March 16, 2020 until further notice. At this time, City parks and the fitness center at the Gibson-Bethel Community will remain open to the public during regular business hours.

If any further changes occur, updates will be shared on the City’s website. We are grateful for your support and understanding as we keep the safety of our participants, visitors and staff our top priority.
